Arboretum-Spiker Park in Canton OH.

Basket to tee:

I'm going to chicken out. I'll throw a Star Teebird RHBH slightly over the water fading the left side and then cross the water when I'm closer.

Actually, looking at this can someone confirm these pics are of the long basket? It really doesn't look like 365 ft. But as best I can tell from the course map it's the longs.

I wondered that myself.

I'm gonna hyzer flip my beat to hell Champ Monarch for its signature run away turnover.

I like this hole. Looks fun and exciting but I wish the water were a little more clear. As such, and unless there is a big right to left wind, I am going to take my Starfire and hit that gap of trees on the far side of the water but way short (you can see two people walking side by side in the picture from the tee in the gap I am shooting at). I should be able to hit that distance and even with the big fade of the Starfire it should be well safe of the water, hopefully fading right to the basket.

That's a good option and another possibility. I was debating on which one to do. I guess the decision would be made on if there are any mando's which restrict shots. If I were going that route I'd use a FLX Predator.

I have a feeling Dave242 is really going to like this hole. Lot's of risk/reward in the different shots.

Beat down star wraith turnover with a small fade at the end

solomon.trenton 05-09-2010 07:09 AM

vision right to teft for a hard fade into the basket for an ace!

I'd probably throw a Star Valk full power, flat release.

thats an OL----------D picture and it's not 365', not even from the long tees.

But it is a special hole (and if I knew how to post a picture on this website, I would post a picture of the hole). This picticular hole will always be Jesse R. Buryj's Memorial hole as it was his favorite hole in the world before he was killed in Iraq on May 5th, 2004.

The Stark County DG Club raised money for a memorial garden (a bench and retaining wall filled with colorful flowers and small shrubs) and last year the club purchased a one of kind Red, White, and Blue powder coated basket with Jesse's picture on the face plate.

I'd don't know the exact length of this hole, but I would assume that it is in the neighborhood of 260' in the short postion and about 20' longer in the longer position. One has to cross water one their drive (eventually) and when the basket is in it's long position the basket is closer to water from the north and the east, instead of just the north when it's in the short position.

This coming weekend, May 15-16th, 2010 we are hosting the 19th annual "Hall of Chains" tournament at Arboretum- Spiker (Canton)/ Lincoln (Massillon) Parks. And will be playing Jesse's favorite hole amongst other favorites of many others. Hope you all can attend.
