The Ultimate Basket Lights!

Right now, ALDI stores (yes, the budget grocery chain) have these "patio umbrella lights" in stock for $7.99 each.

I have previously owned one of these for almost 4 years and they are a.w.e.s.o.m.e. for lighting disc golf baskets. They're super bright and the batteries I put in when I bought it are still working at full power today... after an estimated 300 hours of operation. So, I was very excited when I found them at Aldi again... I bought 18 of them

Anyhow, how they work is that they are split up the middle and have a hinge on one side so you can just clip them around any post. Rubber feet on springs hold them tight to the pole once clipped shut. They take 4 AA batteries and have 28 LEDs that are very, very bright.

So, if you run or play in a league that has night games (or if you plan to do so in the future), these are the best thing I've ever seen for the job. Heck, mine has seen a lot of use and I even use it on the practice basket in my yard quite a bit.

Aldi can be a little flakey about what items are in stock and when, so if you want some, you should go now. you can't beat that price.

Wow. Nice find. Good deal.

That's pretty cool.

I've found a 5 dollar option on Amazon that look similar to this one you found. Only 24 not 28 LEDs in this one.

WARNING!!!

I have tried several of the choices on Amazon and other sites trying to find more of the ones like this. THEY WERE ALL CRAP! The last one I tried, which I got from Amazon for $7 actually fell apart in my hands while trying to replace the batteries.

These are great, of similar quality to the ones I've seen at Home Depot for $30

Again, DON'T BUY ANY OF THESE OFF AMAZON OR EBAY OR WHATEVER.

Ugh, stupid time limits... I wanted to edit to say that I should have worded my first post a bit differently:

I STILL own and use the first one that I bought at Aldi 3-4 years ago and it's a champ. All of the others that I got off Amazon and Ebay have been returned or thrown in the garbage before they ever saw a moment of actual live usage - they were that bad.

I could never bring myself to pay $30 for the good ones I've seen, so I was tickled pink when Aldi got these back in stock.

Anyone know if these can be bought online? Been looking but no luck. I would love a couple and don't have an Aldi anywhere near me :(

I have a couple Aldi stores near me.

If I get a chance tomorrow afternoon I will go buy them out and put up some in the MP.

Good find puppet.
