Totally agree. I'd rather have a predictable flight, than the once in a while benefit of "glide".

To me, "glide" just means it sucks in the wind.

A regular Champ Thunderbird is an excellent headwind fighter. A metal flake Teebird, or AJ Star/Brinster Teebird would also be a solid choice at a lower speed.

They do that for our Ace Race in Cleveland, WI (or at least did until this year). It's pretty fun, and you'd be surprised how few aces actually happen, even with a wall of baskets like that.
