This is my experience as well. My KC pro is flippy and my champ is overstable. Both are x molds and fly very differently. Both about the same grade on the sleepy scale as well.

I second the DX stingray. It's a great disc for beginners because it's not super fast and doesn't require a lot of arm strength to get good distance and great accuracy.
