Pick a shortish course without a lot of underbrush and be sure to bring a flashlight just in case, it will come in handy. I like to use 5 clear champ discs with lights...

Good call on Acorn. It's a fun course but sometimes it gets disgustingly busy, like waiting on multiple groups every hole busy. Plus copious amounts of chuckers with no etiquette = frustration.

Experimenting with many different prototypes does sound like a fun, if expensive idea.
