My experience is the same as yours... The Theory flies just like my beat Tangent. When thrown hard, they turn over very slowly... and won't stop turning until they hit something (edit: they don't...

I've only thrown a G* Mako 3. It's a tick or two more understable (both HSS and LSS) than an Axis.

I haven't thrown a QMS, but a lot of people compare them to the Gauge. I'm familiar with the...

The addition of the Envy and Proxy to my bag are really making me rethink my mids, since they're almost as long.

Currently, I'm carrying 2 Axises (Axes) and a Theory. The Theory recently replaced...

Comet or beat Axis if you can reach it.

If you need a driver, I'd throw a Patriot (like everyone else on this thread). Or a beat Rival (depending on the release angle I want to throw).

If you're looking for a long disc that just holds it's release angle & doesn't fade... give a Rival a shot. Icon or Pinnacle are great. The gummy pinnacles tend to have a bit more fade (as well as...

Terns are great. Star will be too understable for 400' of power, but G* and Champ pair together nicely.

I've also had good luck with lightweight (less than 170g) Outlaws. They only need a few...

I got to throw a few Proxies today. Off the tee, they fly like my very beaten Envy... very straight. A little bit of turn, and a little bit of fade. My beat Envy goes a little bit further, but...

I feel like this the 3rd/4th thread in the past week where: 1) someone discovers how awesome/long/versatile an Envy is, and 2) it totally screws with that person's perception of what a midrange can...

I've gotten in a few rounds with an Excel Patriot, and I'm really liking it. It's a lot glidier than Icon/Pinnacle, and has that really nice "late turn" that works out well for longer tunnel shots. ...

I throw an Envy and a Zone.

I putt with Anodes, and I'll throw them too. I suspect the Proxy will replace the Anodes since I love the feel of the Envy, but it's a little too dumpy for putts (for...

I'm a little surprised that this tread is 50+ posts in, and no one has mentioned a Resistor. They come in light weights for big distance. At normal weights (168g+), they are amazingly accurate for...

Agreed! When I think "understable midrange," I expect glide! I also expect to be able to get them out almost as far as my fairway drivers.

When I throw the Theory next to my Envy, they go about...

A heavy VIP Tursas might work well. It's fun to throw hyzer flips from a standstill. I get them out 280' to 300' (20' - 40' short of my fairway drivers).

I've thrown the Theory a handful of...

I used to throw FD's. I throw Patriots now. They are both awesome molds.

In my experience, FD's will glide a little bit further (15-20 feet) on a good rip. Patriots are a little more...

Funny you mention this. I typically only flick for short distances (less than 225' or so) when conditions won't let me throw an anny. I've been having really good/repeatable results flicking the...

Nice thread. I've been thinking about this recently, as I've been throwing a Zombee a lot recently. I've found it to be quite a bit more controllable than a fairway driver without sacrificing much...

Yeah I'm in the same boat. The Bandit is clearly an understable disc. But Patriots (even lightweight patriots) are not understable, and they take a long time to beat into what I'd call understable....

Maybe consider a Resistor as well? Particularly if you're into slower discs. It's only a speed 7. For overhand throws, I find it goes just a far as a Firebird & much more predictable.

Wow this is a great thread.

After putters, I feel like fairway drivers (speed 6 to 8) are the most important discs in my bag. I get Patriots and Rivals out to about 330'. I only carry two discs...

Sorry to hijack a Vector thread, but I think you might want to try a Pinnacle Ghost. I can't quite get either of these discs out to 330 on flat ground. But to me (280-300) the Vector & Pinnacle...

The Jackal is a great recommendation for this shot. I found them to be a little sensitive to OAT. Now that I've cleaned up my form, maybe I should give them another try. I found that the sFD's...

Yes, I'm one of them. I get more distance and accuracy with a Resistor (compared to a Firebird). Maybe the smaller rim is just a tad more comfortable?
