I've thrown both and get similar distance out of both - a little more from the Hatchet but it's close. The Hatchet has a touch more speed and the Maul has a bit more glide but again close on both....

Thanks for all of the input. I was hoping for a more solid consensus but as with many things there's a spread of opinions. And oh yeah, definitely an ABC fan.

Many discs have a certain sweet spot of power/distance for a straight flight...

I see a lot of guys picking the Envy for Axiom which I think is a great disc but I thought the Proxy would get more love. Dead money straight at a wide power range - what's not to like?

I had the same exact experience. I was hoping for more turn and more glide than Star to really stretch out the distance. I got less turn, less glide, and less distance. I'm sticking with Star Terns.

Yup, Envy/Proxy is the money combo for upshots and short drives and they fly almost as far as mids so it leaves a fairly narrow gap for mids meaning less shots for true mids.

Hatchets are great for this. The fade number is listed at 2 but I think most would agree it's closer to 1. Easy distance with minimal fade.
