I have done exactly this with good success. Only problem is there can be some overlap if you get a beefier Roc3, or a domey/ less stable Wasp.

Gravity Ghost or heavy Comet. DX Ontario and San Marino Rocs are less stable than Ranchos, so grabbing one of those could accelerate the process.

I concur. I have two dayglow ones that are of a similar (recent) JL Champion blend. Definitely not FAF, but not domey. Nice mild dome. They're both really controllable, still no turn but not silly OS...
