I sometimes carry a disc in my bag older than alot of people playing the sport now. (A Discraft Deuce, a wonderful utility disc). Most of my drivers find water before they need replacing though!

You could try teaching your children catch/freestyle frisbee first, before introducing them to disc golf. One catch disc, and your backyard or nearby park is all you need. Its a natural progression...
