I think it would look cool with yellow for the sun portion and the rest a light orange fading to darker almost red at the outside/fingertips. Just my $.02 since you asked. Cool dye no matter what.

Your idea will work and will look better on a white disc than any other color. One thing to keep in mind to get results that pop is to try to make the background as dark or vibrant/saturated as...

My only guess based on that photo is that the starfire is actually a dx disc. I've tried to dye dx before and it always comes out very faint like that one. Are you sure it's star plastic?

Rubber cement will do a better job than wood glue for those seems because it remains flexible when dry. I also use rubber cement to cover cut lines in the vinyl where I don't want the dye to seep...

Thanks. I got lucky with the dye but it took an hour at 120 degrees to get the black dark enough. The lettering helps to cover up how badly I damaged that shiny finish while removing the stamp.
