I purchased one Scythe for windy days and quickly sold it. Just too beefy. Found it to be a full step more OS than a Giant, which was a full step more OS than a World. The Scythe started its fade...

After reading this thread I decided to try a Polecat. First throws in the backyard were promising. Had to get used to the low speed float, but that didn't take long. I tend to not like deep rimmed...

The Latitude Opto Bite is a good dog disc. A fastback design with very very durable plastic. 150 grams is a little heavy for my 33 lb mutt, but a predictable flyer.

I have a half dozen recycled gold line lat discs, and they seem as stable as the Opto versions. RGL is noticeably more stable than virgin GL.

If you have the quality form to throw the River well, stick with it. I throw recycled plastic Rivers, and they beat in very slowly. The TP plastic should be a half notch less stable.

The Fury is...

Westside Warship. Has the feel and glide of a Fuse, but is straighter. The VIP version having a slight fade at the end, the Tourney plastic being straight all the way to the ground.

Truth, as...

Even at 300' power, my opinion is that you want a faster disc IF you are throwing into a headwind. I'll second the PD as a suggestion. You can find an S-line PD in 165g weights, which should be...

I Second the Sinus Latitude's version of the Innova Rhyno. Its easy to dial in the correct distance with this disc, and the soft version sticks on contact with the ground.

PS. "Sinus" means...

I throw mostly Trilogy, plus a Tern, TL, and the PD series. Here are some thoughts from an 900 rated player who throws on the plains of Colorado.

I putt with both the Warden and the Pure, in soft or blend plastics (along with the Sinus). They are indeed pretty similar, but you can see the flight differences if you drive with them. The Pure is...

Latitude 64 Sinus. It's has a shallow rim (low profile), flat top, and is great into the wind. Very predictable.

You can make a simple calculation to see if you are beating the wind.

Headwind (mph) x flight time (sec) x 1.5

So if you are throwing into a 10 mph headwind and your disc flies for 6 seconds,...

I'd second the TP Warship as a substitute for the Mako3. Same glide, a bit longer, and about the same amount of fade (my two jolly launcher Mako3s had a a bit of fade). A bit different feel in the...

Blend Warden
Star Mako

Flight rating of the Warden doesn't seem correct to me, I think its a 3/5/0/0, not a 2/4/0/0.5 The original Mako and Warden are essentially interchangeable off the tee box.

Latitude Recycled Line seems more durable than pure Gold Line to me, and a tick more stable. I like the feel of the plastic in cold or hot conditions, but dislike it when its wet. Fuses in recycled...

Drag may be least in a nose low angle, but lift will not likely be adequate to counteract gravity, and the disc will fall to the ground.

To add to the choir here, I'm 44, 150 lbs, and have been playing for 2 1/2 years, and my distance drivers are 150-162 grams (throw 320-360'). My fairway discs are 160-170 grams, while the rest of my...

I used both of these molds extensively as a Rec disc golfer. They are both "tweener" discs, and I can actually get the Dart out further on an open drive. With full power drive, the R-pro Dart has...

If you need a strong anny for a really sharp dogleg, the Underworld is up to the task more than a River (though I haven't thrown a GL river). I don't use the TP Underworld much during a round, but...

I throw 300-320' controlled, and 320'-360' max D, so we're not that dissimilar. I'd suggest a Lucid Air Trespass. It will fly like a longer stag when new, and be useful to you when the wind is 10-15...
