The dowels are spaced 5" apart. I just built it last weekend, so 5 days.

I don't know what your worried about warping, the discs or the dowels. I don't think the discs are going to warp. One place around here has been using a similar rack for their sale discs for a couple years without any problems. I don't see how this is any different than storing them upright in a plastic box, and I haven't heard of warping issues with that.

I could see the dowels warping after awhile though. I used 3/4" dowels and had to add the wires in the middle of each dowel to support the weight of the discs. Now that I think about it, I should have divided the rack into 3 sections instead of 2. I would have only needed 12 4' dowels instead of the 16 4' dowels I used. And I wouldn't have 16 1' chunks left over. Would have saved about $10.
