Sorry about that, got distracted and posted after your clarification. Landscape timbers or old railroad ties may work for what you need. The ones we use are anchored to the ground with rebar and they stay put pretty well. If there are any tree trunks laying around you can put them to some good use for this too. As to the campground, plant a tree or two and designate them as mandos to avoid decapitating any campers.
