My 2 Ions still seem to putt much like a fresh Wizard or KC Pro Aviar to me. Overstable putter. I hear they don't break in much so that might be part of the issue. I'll have to take people's word that there is some crucial spin/speed ratio below which the Ion FAILS.

Take my word lol, I Fail at putting with the Ion without a serious adjustment.

I love the Vector though...fantastic disc.

There definitely is, and from the sounds of it, the anode is supposed to mimic this mythological disc called a "beat in" Ion.

And just to be clear, the Ion fails because it's too overstable with low spin on it? People don't like to play the curve and/or think it drops too fast?

A combination of the two. Could also be because of the high weight of them, but on lob/low sping putts it seems as if they have very little glide.

So what's the magical Ion putting technique?

To me they fly pretty much exactly how Josh says they do. I've been working on spin and push putting fairly simultaneously. I've come to the conclusion that I need to be competent at both.

As long as you have a fair amount of spin on them they'll work they like a charm. The mediums seem to not require as much spin as the softs do.

Finger spring is definitely key. You need a good amount of it and it has to be clean or the overmold of the Ion will give it a tendency to wobble.

Yeah, Josh sounds like he is doing it the way I found worked best for the Ion. ↓

You need enough clean finger spring to get it spinning, then pitch it with as much neutral nose angle as you can and watch it glide in. It actually wants lift on its putts so treat it like a hovercraft and keep it level.

My 175's do drop quickly but the lines they take are pretty darn similar to a fresh 175 Wizard (which also drops pretty quickly). I'll be interested in some lighter Anodes fo sho anyway.
