gosh darn putters! long post!

im stuck on putters.

my other discs are pretty much set, but im always switching up my putters.

i used yetis for quite some time and had kc pros to go with for driving and upshots. successful rounds were had. cant remember why i switched.

then i switched to rhynos for putting/driving but ended up carrying a regular p&a aviar for tight approaches and putts. plus pro and good dx rhynos are pricey. i thought about using the rhyno and yeti together. seems like a good combo.

recently i've been using wizards and was hooked. i picked up an evo one to match for drives and upshots.

i have a couple ions and like them for upshots and drives but not really for putting. i was pairing them with the wizards since they have a similar feel in the hand.

then theres the zone. i like it for FH approaches and utility purposes. not really a putter per se but still another mold in the bag.

but now im stuck. im mainly a spin putter. mainly offset straddle stance. like to jump putt sometimes. like to throw putters on long approaches and love to drive with them.

so based on that any suggestions? stories? similar situations?

i was thinking; wizard/rhyno or wizard/zone or wizard/ion or yeti/rhyno

i like yetis, just personal preference. they putt well and drive well so i use only those. not the most OS putter which i could maybe use for some shots but i make it work and dont really feel comfortable throwing anything else because nothing else feels like a yeti in hand. that sunken top has ****d me caus nothing else feels like it

Seems like a nice Anode/ wizard or Anode/Rhyno set up would be nice for you. Both the Wizard and Rhyno are overstable and great putters. I use a Rhyno, I tried a wizard, it just didn't stick. For me, the Anode is superior to the ION and gives a better contrast to the overstable putters. Plus it's awesome off the tee and can work left to right really well if needed (RHBH). You could use the Ion instead of the anode if you really dont want to buy anything new.

But, for jut the discs you have, I would suggest the ION/Rhyno combo or an ION/Wizard

Yeti/Rhyno will give you the most versatility. Ion and Wizard the least, IMO b/c they're very similar. You could probably make do with Wizards, one beat and one fresh plus a Zone or Rhyno.

Personally, I only use a Summit for putting and carry Ions for driving and approaching. Seldomly I'll carry a Zone as a kind of overstable mid/putter hybrid.

Stop switching your putters? I use Zones and Aviars: KC and P&A. Zones are flat and beefy, which I like for utility purposes, and Aviars are the most widely available putter and come in a variety of plastics.

i don't know how long you've stayed with each one, but you need to give them a fair amount of time before switching to something else. i would say minimum 3-4 months.

i also use the setup josh described - two pna aviars, two kcs, and a zone. you can do a lot with that.

Bigbead aviars for me. Kc jk yeti...

I've been a ryno hater until recently, finally got use to the feeling of it and is a great os putter but I hate it for putting duties. My suggestion is build a putting form that is the same everytime than start auditioning putters. Using the same putter everytime builds consistency. If I putt with anything besides my bb aviars I lose all confidence.

Keep the zone in the bag. I always feel naked when I don't have mine. Ions are great driving and approaching discs so keep those too. Get a couple favorite wizards and only putt with them. You don't want to drive your putting p.utter. Problem solved

If you like wizards, you should give the voodoo or magic a shot. Keep the feel consistent.

Are you using all Medium Ions? I kinda dug my first Ion for putting, but seriously dug it for upshots/drives. Then I got a soft Ion, and my putts started banging in the chains. Now I pair a medium Ion with a softie in my bag.

Otherwise, the Ion/Wizard combo is a good choice for you, I would say.
