Normally referring to a disc that you use to get out of trouble; i.e., FH roller, tomahawk, thumber, extreme wind driver, skip shot, and various awkward shots that you'll probably never use twice but happy you had that disc that one time. Utility is just referring to the versatility of the disc with certain shots in mind.

Pretty much By utility overstable, I mean 1 disc for any situations when you need super fade (150'-300+') I vote 170+ champion on the firebird |

Yea I think I might be picking one up this weekend at the local store. Thanks a lot guys I appreciate it.
With the Valkryie and the Cheetah out of the bag, and the addition of my drone and avenger SS do you guys really see any overlap? |

Well, it should be in a different distance category than the Leopard.. I think they actually blend together well for that type of shot. As your DX Teebird seasons further, it has the potential to overlap with the Avenger SS, but the Teebird shouldn't ever turn much at all while the Avenger SS will have some gentile left (for your lefty orientation) fade once well seasoned. I think it'll be fine.

Updated Bag:
Bag: Drivers (weight/plastic/model/(condition)/use): 132 Blizzard Katana, (brand new) - long tailwind drives. Used on open holes where space allows it to S curve 169 Champ Firebird, (new) - overstable, used in strong headwinds 171 Champ Teebird, (slightly beat in, stable) - go to driver, reliable fade 169 DX Teebird, (beat) - hyzer flips, straight narrow fairways 172 Pro Leopard (new) - anny's, great tailwind driver 167 Pro Leopard (beat) - very flippy, more aggressive anny then other leopard. Used when I have a lot of room to the left (LHBH). Mids: 171 Z Buzzz, (slightly beat) - main mid, straight with slight fade 168 Elite X Buzzz (beat) - anny's, gentle fade 175 D Drone (new) - meathook midrange, strong fade and used in headwinds, utility Putters: 175 Yeti Pro Aviar, (new) - main putter, some driving off of short narrow holes How is this looking? Teebirds and Cheetahs are maxing out at about 320' for me as of now. Katana is used rarely but pushes about 350'. I push both Buzzz's out to about 270'. I also have a 165 DX Cheetah, 157 DX Valkryie (way to flippy for me), 175 Champ Destroyer (only used when I want to throw a few FH), very beat up 170 Star Leopard, and a Skeeter that I usually let others use. I don't usually use any of these discs and keep them around in the trunk just in case others want to join in. I think in the near future I will be picking up an Anode for a driving putter. Other then that I am happy. I really like having a couple of the same molds in different states of wear. It is fun to see how they change and how they become more useful in their own way. I don't feel I am ready to tackle any high speed drivers as of yet. I am open to all suggestions so if you have any let me know. Thanks. Last edited by welfare_train; 04-24-2012 at 01:12 AM. |

If you love having the same mold in different stages of wear....boy do I have a surprise for you.
I highly recommend you pick up an S, C, and P-line PD. It is an amazing disc and it will truly show you the magic of one mold, 3 discs. Do it my friend! If you are wondering how it flies, the S-line will fly slightly overstable (for a speed 9) and have a consistent fade. C-line will be more OS but same fade. P-line as it beats in will be a great hyzer flip disc and have a TON of turn but always fade. It is a great investment

I agree with the PD and i would suggest a CFR TL. They do everything. It kicked my new teebird out of the bag. Dont get the plus mold garbage. Also maybe a wizard for driving. The G9 are the best but hard to find.

You said something about a driving putter before - I use a Medium Ion for it, but if you like Innova's stuff, a KC Aviar (or maybe even a Dart?) would work for you.

Might have to get a PD or at least throw one around in the future.
I really want to get my hands on an 11x Teebird. I think that along with a driving putter will finish up my bag just fine. |
