dye pen?

I used to dye discs (very poorly) with fit dye, and contact paper. I want to try dying discs again, but with a pen. I have used sharpies, but are there pens with dye in them?

Those Copics look like a great idea. I wonder if the consistency of normal dye is thick enough not to leak or get drippy. I can't seem to find the empties anywhere and called around locally this afternoon...might be worth picking up a couple just to empty out and refill with dye. I know there are refillable paint pens out there, too, with the depress-to-flow tips, but I have no idea what brand name they are.

I know there are some kind of markers out there with acetone in them, but I have no idea what they are called or what else is in them. They may be mixed with paint which will add thickness. Seems like we'd need some kind of pigment and a small amount of acetone. This also seems like it would work along the lines of the paint method, where you'd have to go over it a few times to get the color you wanted.

How old do you have to be before politics and religion become commonplace in everyday conversation?

Inking a stripper-esque name on your disc in place of your own will result in more returned lost plastic. Guaranteed.

Wink

I know vandals and taggers use "stainers" to tag train walls, they are made by filling a marker with a mixture of dye/ink and acetone, I think if you google stainer markers you could find some info on recipes, they do drip a bit though.

Just a thought, back in college we used tech pens either disposable or refillable, Koh-i-noor i think was the refillable brand. Would only work for very fine work as the larger sizes laid down a line about as wide as an extra fine sharpie. I might dig 'em give it a try.
