Congrats to Notroman for tying my bud (Kevin) for second place in the Performance division. It was nice to meet him, even though I might have raised a red OB flag on him (I spotted/officiated on hole 9). Really great DG at Winthrop this week.

Hole 9 was rough for me today The shifty wind got the best of me. It was messing all of us up. I've never had a wind change directions so many times on me before. Once it finally decided on which direction to blow in things got easier.

Thanks for spotting, again, I appreciate all the effort that went into this tournament. I'm still in awe.

Claring played in the Performance flight so it had to be projected. He's a higher rated player, so those are legit eagles.

Nope. His projected par was a 74, compared with actual course par of 68.

His "eagles" and "albatrosses" were on holes where his projected par was 5, 6, or 7. For instance, 3 of his albatrosses came on hole 13 where his projected par was a 7 but he carded a 4. If you counted actual par, it would just be a birdie.

Sorry I missed this...was kinda busy last week. haha

JP said at the players meeting that "after overwhelming opinions that we shouldn't mix them, we aren't going to." That was all he said.

I also heard an unconfirmed rumor but from a very reliable source in the know so to speak that the original plan was for open to play stroke and distance and for performance to only play distance, but due to the first round mixing cards plan, they felt it was too complicated to do it so they didn't.

The original plan was for the OB format the PDGA Board approved in August, not T&D. The Board approved a waiver for the Innova proposal to allow players to choose if they wanted to rethrow from the previous lie or play from where their disc went out plus the usual 1-throw penalty as long as it touched inbounds before going OB. But Innova chose to go with the 'distance only' version this year perhaps for simplicity.
