I'll gladly run a tournament on my own but I have no idea where to start and get no help/information on the matter. I'm also very enthusiastic about running one but where do I start? What do I do? Last time I asked I got no answers.

Don't feel bad about them (whoever them is) not wanting you to run an Event of that magnitude, because the PDGA would not let you run an A-Tier, NT or Major Event without having first run other Events anyways.
Your best bet is to run a C-tier Event and see how much work even those are for 1st timers and go from there. I've been running Events and Series Events for 17 years in 3 states including a World Championship, and having to deal with a crappy Goverenment entity in Miami to do it, but I wouldn't want to EVER have to deal with the stuff that the LA county makes you guys in that area do to host Events. Might not be an A-Tier tourney but at least they've been putting on a tremendously fun monthly on the Championship course layout. Love being a La Mirada Resident.
