Meanwhile, my disc was still stuck.
I went home, grabbed a ladder and a pocket knife, and climbed up as high as I could get (without falling and becoming the injured idiot laying next to the ladder under the rope stuck in the tree beside the busiest street in town), cut the rope, and went home to order a replacement disc.
A few days later, after a windy night, I drove by on my way to work and saw my disc laying on the ground.
Later on I found one of the baseballs.
I think the rope is still stuck in the tree.
Laughing so hard I've got tears in my eyes! Thx!

Good suggestion, I carry a 20 foot retractable golf ball pole in my bag as well. Most everyone who plays with me thanks me for carrying it.

I watched a guy use a beer bottle to try and get his disc down. His GF was watching from DIRECTLY below and took a shot to the forehead with the bottle before it smashed on the ground.

I don't think i've ever laughed so hard since.

I used to carry one of those heavy dog chew balls, but I lost it. I'm thinking about getting a lacrosse ball. Tried golf balls, too small and not enough mass.

Dynamite works well, but other golfers complain it disturbs them. Go figure. Wimps.

But seriously these days its usually my water bottle. I carry a metal one and it shows by the dings and dents how often I have to use it.

Fat Max tape measure has paid for itself 10 fold at least, plus I have saved other people's discs, too.
I also carry a golf ball for the really high ones.

Correct, you become quite popular when you walk up on a group that have been tossing sticks and rocks for a while. I use a jogging stroller when I play so it is easy to carry it along on most rounds.
