MVP--What do you want to see next (other than the Volt)?

What in the world does anything accomplish? Why did Innova make a Tern? They certainly didn't need to.

If MVP could make EZE plastic, or even better, RFF plastic and slap that overmold on it, they'd have the best feeling putters on the market. Period. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I was shocked when I heard the Volt took a year to develop. They are working on speeding up the process, but anything they do in the short term will be based off of Proton, and Neutron.

For me, its a grip/feel thing. I don't care for Champ/Z style plastic for much of anything besides a meat hook utility type disc. Also, it seems to me that every mold I've ever thrown both in Champ/Z and a more baseline plastic, the base plastic version has somewhere between a little and a whole lot more glide. It could be just me though.

Machines take 6 months on a boat to get from Japan to the US, and this is the only reason the Volt was delayed. It certainly did not take over a year to develop, just 6-7 months for the machine to get here and another month or two to get it set up and running their discs.

What kind of boat were the Japanese using? Row boats?

Thanks for the correction I feel you on the not getting to throw the molds for a while. I got a Volt in my SS that I've so far loved, but living in NH, a stormtrooper is gonna be hard to find in a few weeks . That aside, I am willing to bet a substantial number of internet points that MVP's next release is a speed 12+ uber driver.

In his article in Rattling Chains, Steve said that the Volt took over a year from concept to product and that MVP had planned on six to nine months for product development. This is something they are currently addressing. Even Zam said in another thread that the Volt and Amp.were designed as a pair way back when.

Yep, they did tell me that. Now were they working non-stop for a year on the Volt? Doubtful. But the machines set them back a few months and they said learning how to overmold a driver was a big challenge, so a year does not seem unreasonable.

Releases and timelines just get shuffled around, that's all. For instance, we weren't sure if the Volt would come out in Proton or Neutron, only that it would come out before the Amp. So before I made a stamp for the Neutron line, I made a stamp for a Proton Volt, which will chill till they need it. What ended up happening was the full Neutron line being fleshed out with the original machines, and the Volt and Amp held for the newer machine.

Nov '11 view: looking at 2 drivers, Anode, N line, and website in 2012
June '12 view: Volt next release, in either P or N
July '12 view: hold the Volt for the 5th N, flesh out the N lineup
Nov '12 view: slip the N'Amp before Xmas!

I love the fact that we can get this kind of insider information about MVP, through testers, designers, and the owners themselves.
