Also, I'll second what someone said about the Elon Park complex. A short user friendly Eager Beaver, and the butt kicking Angry Beaver. Both courses feature two sets of tees on most of the holes, so it's easy to get a full day in one spot without too much repetition...

Fair warning, for a new player, the Angry Beev track can be BRUTAL. One of Charlotte's "4 Horsemen of the Apocolypse (w/ Rennaisance, Nevin, and Hornet's Nest's full Web layout.) When I was just learning to play, these 4 courses were mind blowing in terms of the scope of what a course design can ask of a player, so they can be fun if you're mentally prepared to score in the +20's or worse.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. I ended up playing Kilborne and Eastway. Shot a 58 and a 55. Hit chains on 17 @ eastway only to be disappointed and find my disc off in that hole behind the basket, still got a birdie. Good times though.
