It all comes down to feel. I throw ontarios because most of the pearly's stay firmer for a long time. The newer san marinos are too gummy for me and I can't stand the feel. When you get one beat in.......they are butter. Although some ontarios are gummy, which I believe started to happen right before they made the san marino mold. The pearly's are the best IMO. If you don't want them hit me up before Bender please and thank you

Ontario's are the old mold.

San Marino is the newer mold I believe.

Here's the breakdown... Most rhynos are ontario, there have been special runs in different mold configurations from time to time.

pro rhyno's are ontario mold.
reg champ rhynos are ontario mold. Current production runs included.
All Extra Gummy Champ rhynos are san marino mold. Avail as cfr disc.
Recent glow champ rhynos are made with new rancho mold (these ones tend to be domey). Avail as cfr disc.

Different people like different rhynos for different reasons (mostly plastic feel).

I did not cover r-pro rhynos or se rhynos because I do not throw them.

My regular champ rhyno is a rancho mold. It is flat as a board and really beefy!

r-pros are ontario mold... It was just a plastic change from pro to r-pro, there was no mold change. Basically plastic just got softer.

I'm thinking the San Marinos aren't just CFR. Omega Sports here in Greenville has 4 SM's, all of which have standard stamps. They also have a bit of a dome, my Ontario is super flat. I definitely see the difference in the plastic like you said.
