after watching some video of all the mvp drivers i've decided that my volt is actually an amp with a volt stamp, cuz it does not fade back out most of the time.
after watching the mike c shock video i can see why either zj or zam was describing it as being kinda like an OLF. it's got that really late bit of turn with a hard fade just like all of my SOLF's.

I was throwing the Volts with slight hyzer for longer flights
When I torque a Volt or throw it flat, the turn is much bigger. We have a few shots of a stable volt being turned into long turnovers. The same disc was holding hyzer flips with plenty of fade |

So I just watched Mike's shock video and I'm disappointed, its almost the same flight as the volt... Add this to the fact that the amp is a crapshoot and I'm really starting to worry about my fav disc company. Why did they rush to release two pointless discs in the middle of the winter?
if they want to get my business back they'll have to actually release an os fwd before next season starts. Last edited by Tmart; 01-30-2013 at 06:54 PM. |

^^^How can you say "favorite" disc company, then dis them in the same breath?
Have you thrown the Shock? The other "pointless" disc you mention happens to be my favorite driver. To each his own. FWIW, I am going to pass on the Shock for now. This does not mean it might not become many player's go-to driver as well. Edit: To Tmart, not ZJ.

The Volt flies for him, how my Amp flies for me. That's why it's my most used driver. I said it a while back, but the Amp is for the noodle arm, what the Volt is to the power thrower. This video shows just that. I already have many overstable discs...so the Shock will wait. For now...

Companies grow. They make choices that don't suit 100% of their market. If you expect any manufacturer to make every exact disc you want, when you want...don't. but sure, you can always come rage on a forum, cuz that's what it's for.

Wasn't able to throw my Shocks as much as I would have liked to today, but here are some of my initial thoughts/observations.
Had about 12-15mph winds today, although they managed a headwind much better than a Volt, they didn't fly as well as I had hoped in them. Loved how you could pop them out of a slight hyzer and they'd fade back a decent amount. Really digging that. Like REALLY digging that. Still getting the same distance out of them as my Volts, as to be expected, and actually not being too stable in a tail wind also. Got a little more time tomorrow to throw these bad boys in the field, so I'll give more observations then.
