It's all relative, nobody can argue that Selah is tabletop flat, some fast greens and an elevated tee here and there don't make the course "hilly", especially when compared to courses around the country. When my options are "Mostly Flat - moderately hilly - very hilly" Selah is in the bottom third, so "not flat, right?" right, but "Mostly flat" yeah.

My struggle has been, how can a course so flat be so great, as a player I prefer a variety of golf shots, including big elevation, it's always fun to have a big top of the world shot, Circ Hill #18 was my first intro to this concept, how fun is that. And I love the challenge of uphill shots. Selah has neither, yet it is still very near the top of my favorites and I give both courses a 5 rating, I put them nearly all of the other courses that I give a 5 have significant elevation.

I'd agree with Martin, it's not flat but given the three categories we have it's in the bottom third of hilliness. If there were, say, 5 categories with flat, slightly hilly, moderately hilly, very hilly and mountainous I would definitely put at least Lakeside in that slightly hilly category.

But.....Let the debate begin

I hope Dave and Candy realize what they have(which I think they do). They have more property and i think there's room for more course(s).

Oh nothing super secretive. You could just tell he's quite humble. We first spoke the weekend of Cinco de Mayo last year. At that point, it didn't seem like they realized what they had. Almost a year later (and I'm sure a lifetime's worth of stories, compliments, and tournament inquiries) you can tell Dave has a better understanding of how special Selah is to the DG community.

Also (I'm paraphrasing Dave's words here), who was the guy that drove in, played creekside in an hour, didn't tell anyone, took off, then came home and got on DGCR to give it a <5 rating?
