I found when I do my normal run up with a Roc I too get OAT..then I slowed down to a stand still and can push em 220'.. then went to a slower walk up and got an extra 30'.. still cant do my regular run up with out them going hard left (im left handed) so for now I jus stick with my slower walk up and its worked out fine for me. The Roc always goes where I want it. Somethin to think about since it sounds like your problem is similar to what mine was

I had a similar problem with putters a while ago. Once I got my grip figured out it made a huge difference. If you don't mind doing the work I'd recommend that over just ignoring the problem by throwing a different disc.

If you haven't seen it, this article might help a lot:

The trick is to forget what you think you know about how a grip should feel and focus more on what a grip should do. For example, I had a hang up about my fingers touching the bottom of the flight plate (I thought they should for some reason). Once I got over that my putter drives improved immensely.

^^Seconded. Even if you don't go with the Roc, you ought to learn the stack fork grip. It's a great way to control your distance without having to change your throwing motion and to exert more control over thinner rimmed and larger diameter discs.

Slow everything down when throwing your Rocs.
I've only been playing for 2 yrs so I am by no means an expert but; I throw Rocs and Buzzzes and IMO the Buzzz is better for longer straight/turn shots when you are going to throw with more power and the Roc is better for overall control/approach. So because of that if I am throwing a Buzzz it is usually full power for super straight/turning shots. When I first started throwing Rocs I was encountering the same problems you are talking about but I found slowing everything down helped me out a ton and not trying to over throw them but just focusing on accuracy and then use the Buzzz when you want to put more on it...Just my opinion

Which Roc is it, there is so many that fly differently?

Star?
Champ?
DX?
KC Pro?

Rancho?
San Marino?
Ontario?
Roc+?
XG Roc+?
etc....

They all fly different. A new Rancho feels as stable as a Pain or Hornet, New San Marino flies as straight as a Core or Buzz, and an Ontario is Flippy like a Fuse or Buzz SS. I don't throw Rocs much any more (except over the water as a disposable since I get one with almost every tournament). I agree that the rim bugs me and latitude rims don't. But I have seen some guys throw Rocs out there over 375+, with little to no fade (That make me real jealous when they do). I use my mids around or over 300 feet (power grip, snap), 250-300 (fan grip, smooth), or to glide in on a low-line no run up tree shot 150-200 (Fan Grip, slow and smooth).

I've been tossing some star ranchos and ontarios with a kc pro that has a more shallow rim... The kc pro is beat and I turn it over with any power at all... Modified grips have helped on the rocs but they still don't feel reat. Likely sticking with the buzz and the main mid!

I have a R-Pro Roc (+ mold), and I swear to god that disc can read my mind.

Best midrange disc I've ever owned.

I throw my roc3 full power, if i power grip it it'll turn alot, if i do a modified power grip with two fingers not against the rim it'll fly very nice and straight. Just try to keep it completely flat all the way through.

you should be able to throw a fresh roc with 100 percent power. even a seasoned one can travel 400 feet without much left to right movement (RHBH). learn how to use it correctly, and you'll have a great drive/mid game.
keep practicing and get the oat out, don't go buy a drone or something stupid OS to cover your flaws.
