I was told (and it seemed to help) that the cause of one is the treatment of the other. So if you have tennis elbow, play some golf; golfers elbow, play some tennis.

In disc golf, I believe you could say "if you have backhanders' elbow, throw more forehands; if you have forehanders' elbow, throw more backhands.

Just in case nobody has mentioned it yet: go see an ortho. You don't know what you don't know. Like I said in my previous post, my elbow problem was a symptom of a weak shoulder. Until you talk to somebody that can definitively tell you what is wrong with your elbow, you could continue to re-injure it.

Agreed... go see a pro. 95% of all tendonitis originates from the neck. Whether or not that's true, I have no idea, but be careful, you can easily make matters worse. My elbow is most prone to flare ups in the night. I wear one of those velcro support braces to bed and I found it has eliminated the pain of waking with a stiff elbow.

i can't believe no one has suggested this yet, but

if it only hurts when you're NOT playing.... then just play continuously, obviously.

I haven't thrown with my left arm in almost a week, and, interestingly, the discomfort has left the forearm side of my elbow and moved on to the tricep side. Since I haven't been using it, I can only take this as a good sign. /shrug

I'm 24 days into resting my throwing arm due to tendonitis and I'll go another 24 or more(?) if it means I get my right arm back. I'll say this... my left handed drives are getting better. Still not good, but better. Maybe by the time my right elbow heals I'll have a decent lefty backhand.
