I describe it's trajectory as a corscrew, but I think barrel roll works quite well.

The flight is the same rotation depending on height but it flies a bit different at each height. Also the angle you throw it changes. It's a pretty awesome shot

I almost never throw a thumber that barrel rolls. I think the path is disc and release dependent. I've seen people throw barrel rolls that went a whopping 150'. I've seen lasers that go pretty low almost 300' with just a little left to right movement. There are many lines a thumber can hit.
