Highbridge lodging

I am starting to look into a summer road trip to Highbridge. Likely fly into Minn/St Paul and drive over. I am looking for input from anyone on lodging. I am bringing my wife with a couple friends. She is a disc golfer and a trooper, but it would be nice to find a local resort type place. I have seen Telemark, but reviews are not stellar. A place with a restaurant/bar or too, a pool and nice accomadations. Not really on a budget, it is vacation. That is why we work to have fun. Thanks in advance for any help.

The Indian Casino just east of Ashland is only 30 minutes north of Highbridge and was one of the host lodgings for Pro Worlds in 2007 along with the Whitecap Ski resort 30 minutes east of Highbridge.

Ashland (20 minutes north of Highbridge) is by far the best place. Multiple motels and several good restaurants. It does get expensive in the summer, being on Lake Superior, but it beats the on-site war-zone/campground and Honka Hovel.

I think I came off more than a little harsh on John's work. The on-site accomodations are way more than a little rough around the edges, but full credit to John for trying. The guy dedicates his life to the place and doesn't ask nearly enough to keep things in order.

Flying into Duluth would be closer to Highbridge. I wouldn't recommend Telemark but would recommend Lakewoods resort which is closer to Highbridge than Telemark is.
