As someone who majored in biology, with an environmental concentration, this really pisses me off. So much of environmental conservation is figuring out how to let people use the land in a environmentally conscious manner. There is a definite environmental impact from disc golf, sure, but at the same time if you think that leaving land alone creates a 'natural environment' you are full of ****.

I don't know how many times I've been doing a conservation project that causes someone to flip out because they think we are destroying the land. Buckthorn is a massive issue up here in the north (might as well call it the kudzu of the north), but if you try cutting it down homeowners flip out because you are 'destroying the environment'. I'm basically reiterating what has been said a million times on this forum, but basically these people are using the environment as an excuse for their NIMBY attitude.

Publishing a paper is trivial. I should just publish "The Environment Impact of Disc Golf" so we have something to cite when dealing with these idiots.

Thanks one and all for lighting that up for me. Guess it's painfully obvious I'll never get busted on a 420 charge. Speeding maybe, but not possession.
