Right Pec Drills

I've been out today to do some Right Pec Drills.
I read that the pupose is to throw arround the nose of the disc by
using wrist extention and really try to feel the disc weight.

After a 50 or so throws, I tried NOT to rotate the shoulders and only
use the arm. The result was pretty amazing. Not only did I throw a lot more
straight but there was more power and control.

So the question is...
Do you have to rotate the shoulders from the Right Pec posistion?
or
Do the shoulder rotation stop/slow down at the Right Pec position, wait for the
arm to straighten and then continue to rotate to follow the arm arround?
or
?

Don't quote me on this, but I believe at the right pec position, your shoulder should be clearing (?) to create elbow chop.

I start with the the shoulders 90 degree to the target. If I turn and throw,
it goes right most of the time, unless it slips out early.
I think that the shoulders are allready cleared when I start or mayby I dont
understand what you mean with clearing the shoulders.

Have you tried the closed shoulder drill?

Yeah pretty much although actually closing the shoulder may help even more. I really believe the right pec drill should be replaced as the closed shoulder drill. The shoulder can slow to release the arm as a whip although the shoulder also whips the arm.

Watching Beto's video, it looks like he rotates his shoulders, its not all arm. I consider the two drills to be one in the same.

I think, actively rotating the shoulders at the Right Pec is one of my problems with the full swing as well.
Guess I need to slow the rotation of the shoulders way down and focus on releasing the arm and wrist to gain more power and stop throwing right most of the time.

I think the right pec drill on it's own is probably obsolete. The hammer pound drills are there to teach you what the right pec drill should feel like and while I'm not very familiar with the closed shoulder drill, my guess is that it's way better than the right pec drill for teaching anything.

What the right pec drill is good for is using it as a starting point for building your throw from the hit back. Once you figure out how to throw from the right pec using other drills you can build your throw by only adding movements that add to the strength of your throw. It's better used as a starting point than a drill to actually teach anything.

What exactly is elbow chop?

Im having a lot of trouble getting the hit and snap, Ive tried all the drills...Im thinking has to have something to do with something I'm fundamentally doing wrong....
