It's a little inconsistent, there are some days where both the lower and upper fields are in use and you have to skip a few holes, most of the time only the baseball fields get much use.

La mirada and mt pride is a toss up. Probably 2nd and 3rd best courses in socal behind sky high as #1. I would play sky high for sure but plan on making a day of it. After all 27 holes at 6000 feet of elevation, most mere mortals are done for the day.

There's no way Mountain Pride is the #3 course in SoCal. I can think of at least 6-7 courses I'd rank above it.

It's a neat use of space, but not in the same league as LaMa back 18, Sky High, Casitas, Sylmar, Verdugo, Oak Grove, etc.

Not in the same league as sylmar verdugo oak grove or the back of la mirada? Why not? I play all of them on a regular basis and mt pride is one of my favorites. Its in its infancy and there is work to be done as far as signage etc. but its a challenging interesting layout that i think rivals most of the good socal courses. But who am i to say, right?

I got to play sky high last year on the same trip and I'm definitely doing it again this year. Hopefully the 28th if anyone wants in! Doesn't having a cart at Goat Hill speed things up?

Mountain Pride does have crossing fairways but there on elevated holes where it's not a huge concern. As for what course is the best it's all preference, but bob are top ten in SoCal. Mountain pride does mix in a good amount of distance and technicality.

I think I was a little harsh in my choice of words. I like the course, appreciate that it has some good elevation changes. To me, the variety of fairway shapes is a little lacking and the rough is inconsistent; nonexistent on some holes, and on others a little fluky(2 feet off line = pitch out).

Over time as the course gets regular play I'd expect some of the rough issues to go away. And I am always glad to see new solid courses in SoCal. Just doesn't quite rank in the top tier for me personally
