They did trim it down considerably... there was a good bit more on the pepper contest in the original as well.

"Editor's prerogative" I believe they call it . Have had more than one article "edited" (read: butchered) myself. Just wish they'd mandate how LONG the writing should be and leave the exact wording alone.
