Legacy "Battle of the Aces"

Looks like Legacy has a new name for their event. I am working on one at my home course in April. Anyone else?

Battle of the Aces:
A “Battle of the Aces” is a fun easy way to play Disc Golf. All contestants must use the 1 or 2 discs in their “player pack”, and the only scores that count are “aces”. An Ace is defined as a single throw at the basket that goes in and stays in. Battle of the Aces, use shorter distances for the event. So everyone has a chance to Ace. There is no second throw or putt for any player.

The winner for the event is the one with the most Aces!

Everyone that attends a Battle of the Aces event will receive a player’s package which includes two premium discs, a dri-fit shirt, 2 wristbands, 2 stickers, and a Bearded Brothers Bar.

The winner for each Battle of the Aces event will receive 8 discs, a hat, towel, lanyard and a vinyl sticker.

So what happens when no one aces? I played an Ace Race up in Harrisonburg in the middle of a hurricane (actually it had just passed) and no one aced. It came down to metal hits............

I assume it would be based on metal hits. That scenario is not directly addressed under the FAQ.

The Legacy Ace Run I did last year was actually point based. 1 point for metal hits and 5 points for aces.

Thanks for the massive pics by the way.

I'm guessing they had to do something original with the scoring as to not completely copy the Ace Race. Tie breakers seem to be up to the TD the way I read it. It's unwritten or they left it off on accident.
