Recommend some discs for my brother
I just got my older brother started this year, and I've been having a really hard time finding discs to recommend to him.
Right now I've got him set up with: 150g DX Leopard 170ish DX Stingray 175g SS Wizard He's got a few other discs laying around that he hardly ever throws, I think he has a Beast, a Valkyrie, and an XD (all DX). This kid throws MAYBE 100'. I've never seen his Stingray flip at all. Can you think of anything I should have him try out? What would be easiest for him to learn on so I can teach him to throw? |

Don't worry about the discs, the leopard, wizard and stingray are perfectly good discs for a new player. Help him work on technique and learn that good form is much more important than what disc you're throwing.

That's what I've been doing. The one thing I think he needs is a wind disc. That Leopard flips like crazy, even with his weenie arm behind it, if there's the slightest gust of wind.

well that's because in addition to being a leopard it's 150g. I'd bump him up to a 170ish leopard to match weights closer with the other discs
that or a 160ish TL or Stalker

170 Leo was my first driver, and I have a beat DX one that I let my friends who come out a couple times a month use it, they rarely throw over 100'-150' such an easy disc to learn to shape lines with.
