On the original topic, to the OP.
Congrats on the new bag! I definitely did the "plastic bag" phase myself. I've been using a generic backpack more recently. Thinking about finally taking the plunge and getting a dedicated DG bag. I don't love the idea of a shoulder bag, so I think it's a bit unfortunate that all the dedicated DG backpacks are so expensive. And that even the various harnesses are 1)not so cheap and 2)seem designed to work with the nicer (or at least non-base) shoulder bags.
