Hyzer flip works best for me when trying to make small gaps close to me.

Pick the spot in the air where you're going to release the disc. Put the disc there. Pull the disc directly back down the line. Focus on your disc and hitting that release point.

Once you start the motion of your drive you're already aimed your disc and picked you line and angle. Now you only have to execute it. Focus on the process and not the end result.

You're expecting your body to automatically go where you are aiming and 95% of us don't have the ability or muscle memory to pull that off consistently.

Until you get more consistent, choose a disc sized 'slot' in the air 10' from your release point and put it 'through' that slot. It is not only close to where you want to throw you disc but takes the focus off the obsitcal(s). Then, extend your slot out gradually until you can range your focus out to the gap point and the further you can accurately range this 'slot,' the better results you will have.
