I'm thinking disc golf scene is inflated with groups that are not really clubs IMO. There are business's listed as clubs etc on disc golf scene. Would be nice if there was a site that had criterion set up for properly defining and recognizing a club.

Agreed, that is kind of where I am headed with starting this thread. IMO it seems like certain (not all) have been able to excel the quality of courses in the area when there are 1 or few governing clubs in the area. Depending on geography/population and number of courses in the area when is it overkill to have that mentality of starting a club for 1 or a few courses.

Preliminary results
Arkansas 10? Illinois 16? New Jersey 4? Virginia 8? Oklahoma 6? North Carolina 19? Indiana 22? Looks like I'm about 45 states short.....but as I said before this is a work in progress. Any more help would be appreciated. Thanks |

South Carolina has at least 3 large clubs---Charleston Disc Golf Club, Columbia Disc Golf Club, and Upstate Disc Golf Club.
A couple of small clubs come to mind, but I don't know if they're more than a handful of people. In addition, the University of South Carolina has a club, the Gamecock Disc Golf Club. This is far from comprehensive; I've no idea what may be on the S.C. side of Augusta, GA, or Charlotte, NC (Rock Hill area); nor whether there are other clubs in the northwest corner of the state, where there are a bunch of courses, or whether they're all under the Upstate umbrella.
