Don't know if it necessarily counts as a roll away but at a tourney a couple weeks ago I had a steep uphill putt for par. It was windy as heck (about 60km/h) and my disc floated to the basket i'm pretty sure it kissed the chains then the wind blew it straight back out over my head and out of bounds about 60' away. Ended up getting a 7 on the hole and lost the tourney by 2 strokes.

I once threw a drive on hole #7 at Waterworks-

Hit that scrappy tree on the right, and rolled backwards towards and past the tee. I ended up about 250 feet behind the teepad, about 600 feet from the hole.

Not at that time

Made no difference anyhow, it's not like I was contending

Mine was hole 13 at bicentennial in Crowley Texas during a tournament. Had a bad first shot. And throw my recovery shot. Hit about 10 feet right of basket and rolls in like it normally would. I look down to grab my marker and bag because I know I'm 3-4 feet out with the roll towards the basket. As I lean down I hear "oh sh**". I look up and my disc is still standing up and rolling back the way it came from....uphill. Then it gets over the small hill/hump and starts downhill towards the ob and into the creek. My easy 3 turns into a 5. Asked what happened. They said it hit. Rolled towards the basket and when I put my head down it rolled around/ under basket and just kept rolling. Made it to the incline and then gone from there.

When I was a kid, our missed putts rolled away uphill, both ways, in the snow.

Gordon 11

Other bad rolls outs from more obvious choices is this hole. I've watched so many people turn 2 to 4, 5 and snowmans. After a few run downs it gets in your head. It's a lot worse now that the grass has grown in

I haven't had it happen to me but I've heard some horror stories about Hole 13 at Whistler's Bend in Glide, OR. It's 300 feet uphill and it takes me a good drive and upshot to have a par look. I've heard plenty of stories about putts and up shots rolling back down the hill, behind the teepad and out of bounds. I've taken plenty of 8's and 9's on other holes but it would be downright demoralizing to have to walk down and then back up that hill.
