We have quite a few deaf DGers here in Seattle, I see a lot of emails because of them, so I will actually try it to get discs back. I have also seen people write "text only". It is also easy because we have a shop that takes drop offs.

Found two discs on the course today with numbers on them and texted them when I got to the next hole. One of them I'm waiting to here back from on where to return his disc and the other told me to keep it. So, yea, I'm leaning towards putting my number on my discs from now on. I don't lose that many anyway.

Thoughts on the customary $5 return fee? I myself would never take the $5 after returning someone's disc.

Sorry, wrong thread.
However, after recovering many discs, was often informed that it was customary to offer $5 for the return of a disc. I never took the offer.

But it's already lost. Point taken though.

The real issue isn't legibility, it is honesty. I'd estimate that 99 times out of 100 (on average) if a disc is lost/left behind it will never be reunited with its owner, regardless of how neat the handwriting is. Those of us that make the extra effort, or any effort at all, to return discs make up .000372% of the overall DG community.

Additionally, I support the penis dye initiative.
