Briefly, David Wiggins Jr threw 255 meters which was the longest throw of the competition. Amazingly, that is the same distance as his prior World Record throw.
Perhaps the distance display on the rangefinder is only 8 bits?

there's some luck involved but it's mostly skill, i could go out there for months and not break Wiggins record because he has more skill. stop trying to cheapen it, what are you jealous?
have you read anything I wrote??

There is a tremendous amount of skill talent and training required to throw that far.

But there is also an element of luck to be throwing when the winds are good. I've been out there and seen people literally sitting around for hours at a time waiting for winds to come. And when they come good, it's all luck who is up next.

It's 85% talent and 15% luck.

The Desert Wind Open (distance event)

Day 3 had wind all day, big winds came after 12 noon and lasted until 3pm, then dropped rapidly. Winds were 5 - 26 MPH. There were no records set, however Dave Jr. tied his world record throw.

Phil Arthur. 204 meters
Robbie Bratton. 228 meters
John Hime. 141 meters
Marc Jarvis. 196 meters
Rob McLeod. 213.5 meters
Christian Sandstrom. 233.5 meters
Suzette Simons. 102 meters
Jeff Stoops. 173 meters
Paul Ulibarri. 194 meters
David Wiggins Jr. 255 meters tied record
I want to thank all who came to the Desert Wind Open this year. Special thanks to Marc Jarvis, Dave Wiggins Sr. Carry Trotter, and the Boys from Vegas who assisted me in making it a success.

Side note; When Dave Jr. threw the 255 meter throw we all thought this was a new record for sure. First Suzette read the meter backed away and didn't say any thing to me, then I read the meter and it read 255 Meters, I couldn't believe my eyes and rechecked it 2 more times before I turned to Suzette and said, 255, she said yes 255. Unbelievable, to throw the exact same world record throw 2 years in a row. Next year we will have another chance. Jeff Stoops
