Noob question regarding Rit
Hey whats up boys and girls, I'm new to the forums and am completely blown away by some of the work done here with the dyes. Its truly awesome stuff.
I read that the new alternative to Rit is the iDye Poly stuff, but because the old Rit has a broader selection of colors I'd like to get my hands on that. Before I go hunt for some older Rit, I have one question.. How will I be able to tell if the Rit I find was made before 2011? Thanks guys, happy disc'n |

Welcome to DGCR and our favorite addiction.
Read this on the Rit, long but very informative. If I was starting today I would be buying only iDye Poly and mixing my own colors.

I agree with Dan. However to answer your question, Boxes of rit are stamped with a number on the top of the box. The last 2 numbers are the year. The first 3 numbers are the day of the year (January 1, 2010 would be stamped as 00110.)
