I doubt it, plastic molds have water running through them that is chilled. Weather shouldn't matter.

Vibram... plastic... Vibram... plastic... headexplode.gif

I don't know, and I've never heard it, but seeing the video of their process I could believe how the factory has some seasonal affective discord.

Before disc golf I made pies and some of them would have specific anomalies in the summer, from a warmer cool-down environment. It probably matters a lot to molders. Even our hotstamping works better in the summer.

I think this thought comes from the X-Link Soft compound. It's only produced in the late fall/early winter. That compound is significantly different from the other compounds.

The thing that really surprised me was when they showed the mold being used, there was also a shoe mold on the same press. That means either they run two totally different lines of product through the same machine at the same time, or, for some reason they decided it wasn't worth doing 4 disc molds at a time.
That seems to me like quite a bit of underutilization.

Stupid me. When Vibram was shooting the video they were probably in shoe production mode so they just tossed the disc mold on so they could film the disc being made, then went back to sole production. That makes a lot more sense. D'oh!
