No, it would be the same as having 4.25 inch diameter holes, instead of different sizes on every hole. If you want the basket higher or lower put it on a hill or in a valley.

People blow this out of proportion. The holes are the same for everyone. The game has standard equipment for the most part. Specs and rules won't turn this into a pro sport. Don't know what will, but that will not be the difference maker

part of the charm of baseball is the lack of uniformity when it comes to outfield distances and wall size

think of the green monster in fenway

the ivy walls at wrigley field

some parks are hitter parks with home run alleys
and some are pitchers parks with deep center field

baseball seems to be doing alright in the pro sport department even with the lack of uniformity.

I'm just talking about standardizing the targets, not the entire playing field. Two different things. If you don't want targets to be standardized then we might as well have Bullseyes on some holes and larger than normal baskets on others while we're at it.

I see your point, however, isn't a considerably heightened basket like a (golf) hole in the middle of....say a 1m high 'volcano-like' hole? Like an ant hill?

Additionnally aren't hanging/swinging somewhat similar to say....rotating windmill blades blocking a hole? Or perhaps a hole located on a swinging bridge.

I have seen these types of holes, but typically you're limited to using only a putter on such courses.

Also a good point, but standardizing how past/present/future baseball stadiums are built is not synonymous to some standards on basket placements.

Perhaps a better analogy would be altering the height of pitchers mound at different stadiums.
