I like to do my canadian shipping via usps online. That way I never have to see a person

Last shipping I did 2 discs cost me $10 via first class mail parcel in a bubble mailer

Yeah, USPS will cost you $10-$15 for 3 discs if I'm not mistaken.

You can also save some money by doing it online.

You did pretty good job (either that or rates went up). Cheapest online price I could find was $9.50 for a 1 lb package (up to 2 discs), and $12.02 for a 2 lb package (up to 4 discs, maybe 5 if some of them are light).

FWIW, as bad as this might sound, its considerably worse for a Canadian to ship roughly the same package to the U.S. Cheapest price I could find on Canada Post was about CN$15-18 (still about US$14-17).

Any shipping becomes considerably more expensive when you get customs involved.

when you sell something to a Canadian you have to ask for $5 extra for the shipping at least

I do the labels online because you have to fill out a customs form as well when you ship internationally. The USPS website makes this really easy.

I generally work during normal PO hours so taking something to the counter is a no-go for me.

Well I just got back from the PO. 14.75 to ship three discs. Wow what a deal.
I went a head and shipped it anyways. Lost money on that deal. Well I know for next time.

Rates went up a couple times in the past year or so and it's caused my marketplace activity to basically stop. It's not even worth it trying to deal on used discs or do trades.

^This. If we Canadians want in on the action we should be expecting to pick up the cost of shipping. Any who don't offer to pay (even when the thread says "shipping included") are pricks. We all know that prices have gone way up in the past 2 years and should be helping out our State-side friends instead of taking advantage. On the flip side, I hate when sellers won't send things up here just cuz it goes cross a border, even when shipping costs are offered.

Yea I auctioned off a disc once and ended up selling it for $3 and it cost $3.90 to ship (in the states) with tracking. Needless to say I was pretty bitter for a while, and I now don't sell near as many disc as I was.
