Probably won Mixed doubles or Divisional doubles (when they had it as part of Worlds) and that makes him a World champion.....Brad Hammock had multiple World championships in singles and Doubles during his illustrious career!

Or perhaps the reporter just misunderstood or perhaps inflated/conflated information to make it sound more interesting?

I was more bothered by the answer to the question of how our discs differ from frisbees which stated that we have discs made to go left, and some made to go right, and some made to go left then right, and some that go right then left. Nothing like making it seem like the technology does all the work, and handedness and throwing style don't play any role at all.

Otherwise, though, that report is good exposure for the sport. Always good to see news outlets treating a big event (to us) like it's a big event in general.

I wouldn't read too much into it. The general viewing audience will get the point, that specific equipment is what we're using, not wal-mart lids.

I thought this was about as well done as it could be for a live report from Orangevale...

It's all about baby steps.
