Top players who are not nor have they ever been PDGA

Not sure if this has been asked before but I did search and found nothing. Are there any players that people know of that could compete with the top 25 or so players in the world consistently but are not PDGA members nor have they ever been a PDGA member?

kind of hard to be top and not be a pdga member. since that is what makes you at the top.

Hard to find anyone like that unless the top touring players have players they know at their local course that can match them. There are top rated players that if they became active again would still be top 25 like Darrell Nodland, Mike Randolph and possibly Scott Martin. They are either Masters or will be soon. So maybe they wouldn't be able to keep up like they used to, but they might have a shot.

I think what pmorgan is trying to say is, you need to be a PDGA member to play the big tournaments (A-tier and above), so it would be hard to identify somebody outside those realms that's tearing it up consistently against top competition.

Good call. I guess I should have asked if anyone knew players that could be top material had they joined

I've played in a local doubles league with a guy that I thought for sure was placing in the money at PDGA tournaments until he told me he never plays anything but local and never has been a PDGA member.
I can't recall his name.
