For those who have not read MVP's thread, the Ion has evolved once again! I just got a couple of the new run of softs, and there are some great new features that make a great thing considerably better. First of all, the texturing on the underside of the disc is gone and now it's smooth and grippy like the rest of the disc. I think the texture was a good idea, it just did not work out functionally. I know it was one of the biggest turnoffs for those who did not care for the Ion initially. I definitely prefer the new feel. Also, the raised lettering on the bottom of the disc is gone too. That was a pet peave of mine as with my grip I was constantly scraping the letters with my fingernails. The third upgrade was to move the flashing/parting line that was on the bottom of the bead...Where it's gone I'm not certain as it cannot be seen on the disc. I assume it's under the overmold. Overall the new feel is very refined. I can't wait for the new run of mediums as I will be switching putters for sure! The other change is purely cosmetic...They've added the embossed logos onto the overmold in the same manner as the Vector.

This is the exact kind of thing that I saw in the MVP guys when I me them last summer...The drive and motivation for excellence along with an obsessive attention to detail. The Ion has been a very popular new putter ever since the first/second run softs...Yet there here has been no contentment on the part of MVP though as every run has seen significant improvements. I know these do not come cheap, and it would seem MVP is investing most of their profits in making disc golf better in ways we've only seen a hint of. I'm continually excited about what's coming next...It seems to always be equal parts what I expect/hope and complete surprise!

Great, going to have to get one or two of these now, along with a glow (or two) and a medium..

I like the willingness to evolve! I'll be retrying the Ion when the mediums come out.

Ok, Spinners on the Green is now selling MVP discs.

They called me today to fill an order.

Curious if MVP is going to send a disc, I will take them up on the the offer...

I'd email MVP (mvpdiscsports@gmail.com) and inquire rather than hoping they read this and figure it out (if you haven't PMed or emailed already).

I picked up an medium MVP Ion last week and love it. It does everything better than my old putter. putts, drives, approach shots. If it wasn't my primary putter I'd throw it for 90% of approach shots as well. I need to get a 2nd one so I can keep one nice and throw the other with reckless abandon.

it feels like the dual plastic gives the disc twice as many uses.
