New Star Models?
OK -- saw where DiscGolfCenter.com has the Monarch available in Star (TFR) with the 2009 PDGA Worlds stamp. Does this mean that the Star Monarch is not far off?
Also, has anyone heard anything about the Boss being released in Star? |

There are many discs that are only available as fund raisers in certain plastics. Cobras, for example, you can only get in Star as fund raisers. TeeRexes only come Champ as fund raisers. So just because the Monarch is available as Star for the Worlds fundraiser doesn't necessarily mean it will be available as a general Star disc any time soon.

Thanks for the info -- that makes sense.
Now for the follow-up -- is the "fundraiser Star" plastic any different than regular Star plastic? I'm thinking that it is probably not, but was just wondering if anyone has any experience? I wouldn't mind paying the price for the the Star Monarch with the PDGA Worlds stamp IF the plastic is the same as any other disc that is mass-produced in Star. (Does that make sense?) |

As far as I know it should be "regular" Star plastic. The characteristics would vary from run to run just like any other disc in a specific plastic.

Saw and held the production Star Monarch on Saturday.
Nice to play with a factory rep every now and again.

I lost my monarch and have been trying to control myself from ordering the worlds stamp one from discgolfcenter...but I think tonight's the night. I'll let ya know how it is when it arrives...can't help myself.

There is a thread for confessing your addiction. I'll do an intervention with you after I check how many TFR's they have?

I got the star Monarch (165 lgt green) for xmas and I have thrown it a few times. It actually doesn't seem to be very grippy for a Star. I haven't thrown it a lot becuase of that issue. It could be the weather though every time I played with it the temps were below freezing or the humidity was way high.
