New course near north Georgia

A 9-hole course is up for consideration next Tuesday in Clayton in Rabun County. The city council just needs to see the layout before giving the go ahead. It's an Eagle Scout project. I'm acting mentor on the project and have done the design and I'm helping with the fund raising.

So any new updates on this course? It's only about an hour or hour and a half out from me and I would LOVE to have another worthy course to play out that way. Bhuff mentioned something about this to me a week or so ago when we were out at Herman and I had kind of forgotten about it until I saw this thread.

MrFixIt is the one who would know about any updates. Last time I checked with him there had been little to no progress and the course was not a priority for the county/gov't/rec department/etc.

... I'm really hoping it somehow does get put in at some point. It would be nice to have another course close to Athens.
